Our Artists
The Art of Africa team is made up of dreamers and seekers of experience. Those who find beauty in both the grand and fine details, in the fleeting yet majestic light over a mountain range to the small brushstroke on the feather of a sparrow. Their collective knowledge and insatiable minds inform our workshops; guiding us to view life through a creative lens in each art session, and beyond.

“Artists know a place beneath its skin; they have taken the time to live and breathe its shapes and colours; its shadows and its light. Who better to introduce you to a destination,
a location, a moment?”

Clive Wakefield
Watercolour artist, high-end private guide and renowned raconteur in Victoria Falls, Clive is as dynamic as he is unique. He continues to expand both his painting and historical repertoire; captivating guests with events from another era; capturing both past and present with brush and paint.
Tichoana Ncube
Tichaona Ncube was born an artist in rural Tsholotsho, outside of Bulawayo. Self-taught, he would follow herds of cattle and observe shapes of muscle and texture of coats, the subtle shades of browns between animal and earth. Creativity runs through his veins, manifesting in magic at the end of each brushstroke.
Tich has submitted three of his pieces into the annual international ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year Competition’ held by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation in London. As a finalist for two out of his three submissions, he rightfully takes his place as a world-class artist alongside some of the greatest talent across the globe.
